Having A Deck As An Addition In Your Home

Having a deck as an addition in your home is always a great idea. It is unfortunate that some homes cannot have a deck for whatever reason. A lot of people just opt with the simple square deck. Mobile Home Will Meet The Ground

Begin by marking a point on the ground at each corner (using a Plumb Bob to determine where the corner of the Mobile Home will meet the ground. Mark these locations with a wooden stake(like those things that kill vampires hee hee). Anyway, Drive the stake into the ground at the points. Now snap a chalk line between these points. This will determine the exact position for the Bottom Rail. Place the back strip of the bottom rail on the chalk line. Secure the Rail to the ground with 7″ ground spikes (nails). It is best to place the spikes on both ends and throughout the middle. If you are securing the Bottom Rail to concrete, be sure to use masonry/concrete nails.
The next step is to secure the Back Top Rail. Start with your first piece of Back Top Rail 1/2 inch from the highest point of the Mobile Home. Place the bottom of the Top Rail flush with the bottom of the Mobile Home. Screw or nail (I prefer sheet metal screws) the Top Back Rail to Mobile Home. Always leave 1/2 inch at corners and 1/2 inch between any pieces. Now continue all the way around Mobile Home. Read the rest of this entry »
